Senior Data Engineer
Test ETL pipelines and enterprise data platforms for CGI consulting clients, validating data quality with SQL, Databricks, Spark, Python, Hadoop, and Azure Data Factory.
Apraksts
- Create and run test plans, scenarios, and cases for enterprise data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integrations.
- Test ETL workflows end to end, checking accuracy, completeness, transformation logic, reconciliation, and data quality between source and target systems.
- Write and run complex SQL queries for backend and data validation.
- Test large-scale data processing with Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Python, Hive, Hadoop/HDFS, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Carry out functional, integration, regression, system, and data quality testing across pipelines and applications.
- Check batch processing, schedules, dependencies, and workflows in Control-M and Unix/Linux environments.
- Log, track, and retest defects, working with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders through resolution.
- Build and maintain reusable test scripts and automation where applicable.
- Take part in Agile/Scrum work, including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Prasības
- At least 8 years of experience in software quality engineering or testing.
- Strong background in ETL testing, data validation, integration testing, and regression testing.
- Strong practical SQL skills, including complex queries for source-to-target validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks.
- Experience testing large-scale data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Python, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools, including Hadoop/HDFS and Hive.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M.
- Solid understanding of data quality, transformations, mappings, and source-to-target validation.
- Experience with defect and test management in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work remotely from anywhere in the USA.
- Successful completion of a background investigation.
