Senior Apparel Designer, Sportswear

Apraksts

  • Work with the design team to create seasonal collections across apparel categories.
  • Develop garments for North American and international markets.
  • Research fashion, athletic, lifestyle, competitor, and market trends.
  • Turn market insights and seasonal direction into commercially relevant product concepts.
  • Create seasonal ranges, sketches, technical drawings, color concepts, and presentations.
  • Present concepts and product recommendations to Product and other stakeholders, and incorporate their feedback.
  • Recommend fabrics, trims, colors, and construction methods.
  • Work with Sourcing to meet cost, margin, and production guidelines.
  • Request, assess, and approve fabric and trim swatches ahead of sampling.
  • Review samples and guide internal and offshore development teams on design.
  • Partner with Fit Technicians and Product teams to refine fit, function, construction, and aesthetic.
  • Provide practical support with pattern making, draping, fabric cutting, sewing, and garment construction.
  • Track competitor activity, consumer preferences, fabric innovation, and sportswear market developments.
  • Support and mentor junior designers.
  • Ensure designs align with brand identity and quality standards.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Prasības

  • Post-secondary qualification in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
  • At least 7–10 years of apparel design experience, ideally in golf, sportswear, athleisure, performance, or lifestyle apparel.
  • Experience across all stages of the design process.
  • Illustrator and Photoshop skills are required; familiarity with CLO, AI, and InDesign is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and manufacturing.
  • Strong pattern-making and garment construction expertise.
  • Experience with draping and hands-on garment development.
  • Strong understanding of prints, patterns, graphics, and geometric design applications.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, color, and apparel construction methods.
  • Ability to research and interpret fashion and consumer trends and turn them into commercially relevant products.
  • Understanding of how design decisions affect costing, margins, and manufacturability.
  • Ability to balance creative work with commercial and business needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to explain design concepts and seasonal direction clearly.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and seasonal deadlines.
  • Collaborative team approach and comfort working across departments and with international partners.
