Regional Lead Rail Engineer – Texas Remote
Lead Trilon Group’s railroad engineering practice across the United States from a remote Texas-based role. Oversee rail project delivery, technical standards, client relationships, and regional growth.

- Provide regional leadership for railroad projects and advance strategic growth initiatives within the assigned region
- Direct the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of industry tracks, terminals, spurs, mainlines, yards, and sidings
- Coordinate DOT and municipal public agency projects with railroad companies, including at-grade crossings, grade-separated structures, and utility crossings
- Act as a senior technical advisor on rail design, grading, drainage, and related infrastructure
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, railroad operators, public agencies, and industry partners
- Contribute to business development through client engagement, proposals, pursuits, industry organizations, and conferences
- Mentor engineers, designers, and junior staff across offices and project teams
- Partner with Project Managers and regional leaders on staffing, resource planning, and operational efficiency
- Work with federal, state, and local agencies across multiple states to maintain regulatory and railroad-standard compliance
- Lead the implementation and enforcement of QA/QC throughout project development and delivery
- Help establish consistent rail engineering practices, design procedures, and project delivery processes
- Travel periodically for client meetings, site visits, regional coordination, and industry events
- Handle additional duties as required
Талаптар
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in rail, transit, railroad infrastructure, and transportation or land development engineering projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience leading multidisciplinary rail engineering projects and managing client relationships
- Strong knowledge of design standards for track, at-grade railroad crossings, grade-separated structures, and utility crossings
- Experience mentoring technical staff and leading engineering teams across projects or offices is preferred
- Familiarity with CAD platforms and standard engineering software applications
- Strong business development, communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with railroad staff, clients, agencies, contractors, and internal teams
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to travel regionally as project delivery and client engagement require
