Technology Director, Energy and Critical Infrastructure
Lead technology strategy, architecture, and cybersecurity for Critical Software’s regulated energy and critical infrastructure solutions. Guide technical direction across smart grids, renewable energy, and safety-critical systems.
Description
- Set the technology vision, principles, and reference roadmaps for the Energy and Critical Infrastructure cluster
- Provide technical leadership for regulated, safety-critical software spanning metering, head-end systems, substations, grids, and renewable energy
- Create scalable, reusable architectures and technical assets for customer solutions
- Establish cybersecurity, interoperability, and secure-design standards for critical infrastructure
- Resolve complex architectural, safety, and regulatory issues as the senior escalation point
- Apply AI to energy delivery while managing innovation, security, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with the CTO to develop capabilities and reinforce Critical Software’s role as an energy engineering partner
- Coach senior engineers and architects across the cluster
- Represent Critical Software in industry groups and standards forums
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering and technical leadership experience
- Substantial experience in energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure
- Background working with safety-critical or mission-critical systems
- Thorough understanding of the energy ecosystem, including utilities, TSOs, DSOs, OEMs, metering providers, and technology partners
- Expert knowledge of smart metering and grids, head-end systems, substation automation, embedded and connected platforms, and energy data platforms
- Strong command of cybersecurity, interoperability, and secure design in regulated environments
- Working knowledge of AI and machine learning for operational energy, including value assessment, risk, validation, and security
- Ability to explain complex technical and regulatory subjects clearly
- Experience leading through influence and developing senior technical professionals
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, quality, and ethical practice
