Service Engineer – Pharmaceutical Machinery | Tokyo, Japan

Service Engineer responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting pharmaceutical machinery in Japan. The role supports installation, validation, customer training, and technical service activities for Körber Japan.

Description

  • Install, commission, validate, troubleshoot, convert, and maintain pharmaceutical machinery.
  • Support sales and project management activities, including participation in customer meetings.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports, customer complaint records, and other service documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver training to customers.
  • Work directly with product headquarters colleagues to resolve technical questions.
  • Complete internal training at product headquarters factories or receive on-the-job training at customer sites in Japan and abroad.

Requirements

  • Technical vocational training, preferably in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or information electronics.
  • At least three years of field service engineering experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with inspection, sterile filling, and primary or secondary packaging is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, including GMP, IQ, OQ, and validation processes.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Japan and occasionally to overseas headquarters for FAT and training.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international sales and service team.
  • German language skills are advantageous but not required.
  • Leadership experience is not required.
