Senior Water Utility GIS Data Analyst

Support Arcadis water infrastructure consulting projects through GIS, SQL, and data analysis. Help turn utility data into informed decisions, reliable metrics, and client-ready products.

Description

  • Support Engineers, Scientists, and Project Managers on water infrastructure projects
  • Deliver GIS and data analysis for water utility client engagements
  • Structure analyses that inform program decisions, grant funding, and workstream improvements
  • Lead small teams creating standard operating procedures for data collection and curation
  • Manage analysis from fieldwork and data aggregation through client-ready reports and assets
  • Coordinate and contribute to training for junior data analysts
  • Maintain SOPs, data integrity, and quality control standards
  • Interview stakeholders to clarify data-driven decision-making objectives
  • Interpret internal and external KPIs and metrics, and align data feeds with those measures
  • Verify that collected data is accurate, standardized, and ready for downstream products
  • Review client-facing data products and identify bugs or other issues
  • Maintain calendars, MS Planner boards, and project management materials as needed
  • Investigate team issues through root cause analysis and implement adjustments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM discipline
  • Nine years of experience, including two years in consulting
  • Background leading small data teams
  • Experience applying data analysis best practices to support informed decisions
  • Strong grasp of statistical concepts, including random sampling and confidence intervals
  • Experience working with field data collection teams
  • Working knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server
  • Ability to independently write basic SQL
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing technical methodologies, procedures, and documentation is highly desirable
