Senior Technical Designer (Remote in Canada)
Develop game modes, quests, AI, and live events for Digital Extremes’ Warframe and Soulframe studio. Partner across departments and mentor designers in scripting and Evolution Engine development.
Description
- Create and implement game modes, missions, quests, events, and AI
- Work with designers, level designers, programmers, and other departments to refine features through to shippable release
- Support and maintain content after launch
- Help designers reproduce, diagnose, and resolve bugs
- Coordinate with other departments to address scripting requirements
- Remain available to respond to urgent production issues
- Support a positive workplace through cross-functional participation and regular team engagement
- Coach Junior Technical Designers in scripting practices and the Evolution Engine
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in game design or development
- University or college degree in computer science, game design, game development, or equivalent professional game development experience
- Advanced proficiency in Lua or a comparable scripting language
- Basic knowledge of C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Working familiarity with a commercial game engine such as Unity or Unreal is preferred
- Experience supporting live-service production schedules is preferred
- Background in multiplayer or networked games is preferred
