Senior Storage Software Engineer
Lead enterprise storage software development at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in a senior engineering role. Work across C/C++, operating systems, distributed storage, and highly available platforms.
Description
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for product enhancements and new offerings
- Build software spanning operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet tools
- Assess hardware compatibility and contribute to hardware design decisions
- Lead multiple software engineering teams and internal and external development partners across solution design, coding, testing, and integration
- Strengthen collaboration with internal and external partners on software systems design and development
- Assess designs and project work against systems development standards and guidelines
- Deliver actionable feedback to raise product quality and reduce failure risk
- Provide specialized domain expertise and software systems leadership across organizational projects and programs
- Introduce emerging technologies and advance innovation in software systems design
- Coach and mentor less-experienced team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or an equivalent field
- At least eight years of software development experience
- Strong systems programming experience with C/C++ for enterprise software
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and multithreaded programming
- Proficiency diagnosing issues in multithreaded and clustered environments
- Deep understanding of operating system internals
- Experience in at least one relevant area, such as high-performance storage data paths, distributed file systems, storage systems, high-availability clusters, memory management, performance tuning, or performance modeling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience defining software system architectures for products and solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Mastery of English and the local language
- Ability to present product architectures and design proposals and negotiate options with senior management
