- Architect, develop, and support complex software systems
- Produce reliable, well-tested code for challenging technical requirements
- Convert product requirements into resilient designs for distributed applications
- Direct design and code reviews across multiple applications
- Guide sprint teams in delivering new and enhanced capabilities
- Remove delivery obstacles affecting high-quality sprint outcomes

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least five years of professional software programming experience
- At least two years of experience with technologies used at Mercury
- At least one year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
- Proficiency in one or more industry-standard programming languages, such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript
- Practical knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Experience with relational databases, NoSQL systems, and caching technologies
- Experience building APIs with modern protocols such as REST and gRPC
- Proficiency with message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks, including Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, Amazon SQS, MS MQ, or Apache Camel
- Working knowledge of microservices architecture
- Experience using containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency applying DevSecOps practices to improve engineering efficiency
- Experience designing and delivering reliable distributed application systems
- Ability to use analytics and experimentation to guide system improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership through mentoring and technical guidance
- Experience shaping a team’s technical strategy and vision
- Ability to drive technical direction while supporting high-quality engineering delivery
