Senior Software Architect, Cloud-Native Defence Systems (Canada Remote)

Design and deliver cloud-native defence training systems for ADGA Group, including Royal Canadian Navy Cloud and Synthetic Training Hub capabilities. Lead Kubernetes containerization, infrastructure-as-code deployments, and secure training infrastructure.

Description

  • Design cloud-native architecture for Royal Canadian Navy Cloud component systems and the Synthetic Training Hub
  • Enable collaborative, self-contained deployments across public and private cloud-native infrastructure
  • Identify or recommend open-source and commercial Horizon or Synthetic Training Hub components that are container-ready or can be containerized
  • Produce architecture diagrams, network traffic diagrams, firewall rule sets, swim-lane diagrams, and security-control implementation tables
  • Build infrastructure-as-code deployments for Navy organizational infrastructure supporting Cloud and Synthetic Training Hub pipelines
  • Create cloud-native infrastructure-as-code deployments that can be sized, tuned, cost-optimized, and rapidly redeployed
  • Build TLA components from source when necessary to support container creation
  • Create TLA component containers for Horizon Kubernetes deployments
  • Develop Synthetic Training Hub containers for cooperative, multi-user modeling and simulation scenarios and associated user-experience infrastructure
  • Contribute to the Royal Canadian Navy cloud-native training environment
  • Triage issues and manage priorities and time as the RCN evaluates and shifts toward suitable solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian university or a credential recognized by CICIC, or a recognized college technical diploma in science, engineering, computer science, or mathematics
  • At least 10 years of progressive software development experience
  • At least four recent years designing, developing, and deploying software systems as a Software Architect
  • Experience deriving functional requirements for software architecture systems
  • Experience designing complex software systems and software and IT architectures
  • Experience developing complex software systems and software and IT architectures
  • Experience working with Microsoft and Unix/Linux operating system environments
  • Experience integrating and testing software within a software architecture system
  • Experience creating, updating, and maintaining software design documentation
  • Experience determining and implementing IT infrastructure
  • Cloud-native environment experience is strongly preferred
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government security clearance
  • Must obtain and maintain VCR and Controlled Goods clearances
  • Consultants must hold Controlled Goods clearance and insurance
