Senior Security Consulting Engineer - North Carolina Remote

Lead enterprise security consulting engagements for Cisco customers, delivering firewall, VPN, cloud security, automation, and advisory solutions. Own deployments, troubleshooting, workshops, technical enablement, and collaboration with customer and Cisco teams.

Description

  • Deliver end-to-end security consulting services for Cisco customers
  • Lead, track, and report on security services engagements
  • Engage with customer technical teams and management stakeholders
  • Deliver security solutions independently and direct multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Design, document, validate, pilot, deploy, and automate Cisco security solutions
  • Provide ongoing support for implemented security solutions
  • Apply advanced technical expertise while explaining architecture and complete security solution context
  • Assess alternative designs, present recommendations, and guide decisions
  • Diagnose security and technical problems, determine root causes, and support customer recovery
  • Collaborate across the global security practice and with Cisco cross-functional teams
  • Help develop and maintain standards, templates, methodologies, best practices, and delivery frameworks
  • Establish trusted-advisor relationships and identify potential future engagements
  • Contribute scope and effort details to customer proposals and statements of work
  • Plan and facilitate project workshops
  • Conduct training that helps customers realize the value of Cisco security solutions
  • Build subject-matter expertise across cybersecurity and related technical domains

Requirements

  • At least seven years of cybersecurity, IT consulting, and systems integration experience with large enterprise organizations
  • Advanced technical expertise with Cisco Secure Firewall and ASA technologies
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise firewall deployments across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Advanced knowledge of VPN technologies
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise VPN deployments on-premises and in cloud environments
  • Experience with Cisco AnyConnect and Secure Client
  • Technical experience with Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, and other SASE solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco ISE and TrustSec, with hands-on experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cloud security, network visibility, and Zero Trust Segmentation solutions
  • Ability to create automation artifacts with common automation frameworks, programming languages, generative AI systems, and Cisco APIs
  • Experience planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, automating, and operating network security solutions
  • Strong grasp of secure design principles, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, adaptability, scalability, dependability, and modularity
  • Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical personnel and executive stakeholders
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent qualification
  • CCNP Security certification
  • Preferred expertise in Cisco on-premises and cloud security technologies, including SNA, Secure Workload, Secure Endpoint, DUO, and Cisco XDR
  • Preferred experience with routing and switching, infrastructure applications, voice, content networking, wireless, Software Defined Access, and Software Defined WAN
  • Desired certifications include DevNet Associate, CCIE Security, CISSP, SANS GIAC, and NSA IAM
