Senior Pipeline Engineer, Hybrid Waltham

Enbridge seeks a senior pipeline engineer to support its U.S. natural gas transmission system. The role focuses on pipeline integrity, operational risk, reliability, and engineering solutions across field and office teams.

Description

  • Guide field teams technically while identifying improvements to processes, procedures, and daily operations
  • Apply CFR 192, company requirements, and industry standards to engineering decisions, material selection, testing, and safe operations
  • Assess projects, procedures, pipeline crossings, encroachments, and gas-handling plans to control operational risk and safeguard pipeline integrity
  • Analyze equipment failures, operational concerns, and reliability problems
  • Create practical, sustainable engineering solutions
  • Contribute to project scoping, budget planning, audits, technical records, and internal or external information requests
  • Provide engineering expertise to regional teams
  • Offer prompt technical assistance during emergency response
  • Work with field and regional colleagues across office and field settings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or civil engineering
  • At least 7 years of engineering experience in the pipeline or oil and gas industry
  • Understanding of CFR 192
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with natural gas design and operations
  • Experience in pipeline integrity, reliability, or operational engineering
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities and oversee concurrent projects, technical work, and operational requests
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, technology, and team leadership abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of the position without current or future employment-based sponsorship
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work throughout the United States
  • Successful completion of background checks, including a five-year driving record review, criminal check, and company-sponsored medical screening
  • Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting up to 20 pounds, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, typing, and extended sitting
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, collaborate on complex issues, organize and prioritize tasks, make decisions, complete routine forms, prepare basic reports, and communicate by telephone
