Senior Patternmaker Grader - North Vancouver

Lead production grading and patternmaking for Arc'teryx outdoor apparel in North Vancouver. Ensure accurate specifications, factory-ready documentation, and consistent fit across product lines.

Description

  • Maintain patterns through factory sampling and production, keeping methods and documentation aligned with factory processes
  • Create and maintain accurate seasonal finished-garment measurement specifications
  • Verify that grading formulas in measurement specifications and templates are accurate and reproducible
  • Support graded production patterns and complete grading and documentation for comparable products on schedule
  • Reduce graded die sizes while preserving design integrity and production practicality
  • Prepare offshore grading packages and coordinate with factory partners
  • Maintain digital pattern libraries and keep factory-graded patterns up to date
  • Participate in graded size-run checks
  • Develop working relationships with Designers, Product Developers, Patternmakers, Sample Sewers, Technical Specialists, and factory partners
  • Coordinate with development teams on patternmaking, measurement, and technical construction methods
  • Define standard fit and grading approaches by product category and intended use
  • Contribute to grading libraries, grading guides, and standard grading practices
  • Troubleshoot issues and maintain patternmaking software and equipment
  • Set up and maintain digital grade-table libraries
  • Support the training and development of Patternmakers and Patternmaker Graders
  • Provide daily assistance and coaching to Patternmaker Graders
  • Follow the Fair Labour Association Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing
  • Support CLO 3D size-set stitching and review
  • Deliver on-site grading training for factory partners
  • Support the TCC and ALO offices with pattern grading and pre-production approvals

Requirements

  • At least seven years of production grading and patternmaking experience, ideally in the outdoor industry
  • Advanced knowledge of garment construction with a specialization in grading
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including accurate data entry
  • Proactive problem-solving skills focused on identifying root causes and effective solutions
  • High flexibility and adaptability in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to encourage breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • Genuine enthusiasm for outdoor activities and an active lifestyle
  • Experience with Gerber AccuMark is an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
