Description

  • Lead hourly and salaried employees across Plant Operations.
  • Run unit operations safely, reliably, cost-effectively, and with environmental responsibility.
  • Meet safety, production, quality, and budget targets.
  • Help shape Bayport Choate’s site strategy and annual goals as a member of its Leadership Team.
  • Close performance gaps and align plant activities with Global Manufacturing and company plans.
  • Advance corporate strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Lead, develop, and coach direct reports and support staff.
  • Promote GoalZERO HSE performance through leadership, workforce and contractor involvement, and effective management systems.
  • Maintain working knowledge of processes, equipment, products, risks, and business needs.
  • Apply company policies, the Code of Conduct, and corporate standards consistently.
  • Oversee daily execution across all unit areas.
  • Develop employees and successors, set accountability, and guide professional growth.
  • Ensure staffing levels and organizational capabilities meet operational needs.
  • Encourage collaboration, teamwork, and sound decision-making.
  • Turn strategies into operating-area objectives and action plans.
  • Track and communicate KPI results, and lead continuous improvement plans.
  • Contribute to and lead site, regional, and corporate initiatives.
  • Prepare and oversee the unit budget.
  • Identify and recommend capital investments.
  • Represent LyondellBasell through community engagement.
  • Report to the Bayport Choate Site Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and eight years of progressively responsible petrochemical or refining process operations experience; alternatively, 12 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Knowledge of and experience with HSE, operations, maintenance, and engineering processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of business fundamentals and shared services roles in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a formal role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people at all organizational levels.
  • Technical or operational background.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
