Senior Internal Audit Executive - London Hybrid

Lead risk-based internal audits for iFAST Global Bank, a UK-regulated bank, covering control assessment, reporting, stakeholder challenge and remediation validation.

Description

  • Lead risk-based audits from planning and fieldwork through reporting and follow-up
  • Help the Head of Internal Audit define audit scopes and programmes using the Bank’s risk profile, regulatory obligations and emerging risks
  • Review governance, risk management, internal controls, risk ownership, oversight and challenge for effectiveness
  • Test control design and operation through walkthroughs, audit testing and evidence reviews
  • Analyse control deficiencies, root causes, thematic concerns and emerging risks, including their effect on the Bank and regulatory compliance
  • Independently challenge risk assessments, control testing, issue ratings and remediation plans
  • Produce well-supported audit files, findings and reports using sufficient and appropriate evidence
  • Track agreed actions and independently confirm implementation, including regulatory remediation where necessary
  • Escalate material control weaknesses, risk exposures, scope restrictions and evidence concerns when appropriate
  • Maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders, co-source providers and assurance teams while preserving independence and objectivity
  • Present findings, deliver audits to agreed deadlines and help strengthen the organisation’s risk and control culture
  • Maintain Internal Audit and assurance issue logs, monitor action completion and verify remediation before recommending closure
  • Carry out additional assurance, advisory and related work assigned by the Head of Internal Audit

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in accounting, finance or a related field
  • A relevant professional qualification such as CIA, CISA, ACCA or ACA, or progress towards one, is desirable
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Experience in internal audit, risk, finance or assurance within banking, regulated financial services or professional services
  • Experience planning and delivering risk-based audits and assessing controls
  • A sound understanding of the UK regulatory framework, including PRA and FCA requirements
  • Experience with financial or regulatory reporting is desirable
  • Exposure to retail banking and knowledge of prudential or credit risk is desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of the Global Internal Audit Standards and recognised internal audit practices is desirable
