Senior Gameplay Animator - Remote in Washington

Create polished gameplay animation for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation titles. Bring characters, combat, traversal, cinematics, and other in-game sequences to life through engine integration.

Description

  • Create polished character gameplay animation that follows the project’s artistic vision and technical requirements.
  • Partner with designers and programmers to integrate animation into the game engine using Maya and proprietary tools.
  • Investigate and resolve animation-related problems independently.
  • Combine motion-capture data with hand-keyed animation to produce convincing character performances.
  • Animate hero traversal, combat, boss encounters, gameplay camera cinematography, missions, and open-world content.
  • Coordinate with the Animation team to maintain a consistent animation direction throughout the game.
  • Offer constructive feedback when appropriate.
  • Work across design, programming, writing, project management, art, audio, character, and rigging teams to solve problems and meet project objectives.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with Maya.
  • Familiarity with Insomniac’s proprietary tools is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of standard state-machine workflows in a game engine.
  • Experience with MotionBuilder is advantageous.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere is advantageous.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply foundational algebra and geometry principles.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • A background check is conducted at the offer stage.
