Senior Financial Analyst - North Carolina Remote

Support billing, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting for Valeris, a life sciences commercialization partner. Analyze customer program finances and strengthen reporting and financial controls.

Description

  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, explain variances, and recommend actions
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports covering revenue, receivables, cash activity, and customer program results
  • Build analyses and reporting tools that help stakeholders interpret results and make informed decisions
  • Review billing for accuracy and completeness, investigating discrepancies through resolution
  • Reconcile balances and transactions across reports, customer records, and the general ledger
  • Track outstanding items and collaborate with internal teams to resolve financial questions
  • Support month-end close with account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and supporting schedules
  • Assist with revenue and deferred revenue analysis and reconciliations
  • Maintain documentation and comply with financial controls and approval procedures
  • Collaborate with Finance, Client Services, and Operations to assess business activity and financial impact
  • Interpret contract terms and business processes to support accurate billing and reporting
  • Recommend improvements to data quality, reporting, and financial process efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least three years of experience in financial analysis, financial operations, or a related finance position
  • Strong analytical ability, including experience handling large datasets, investigating variances, and explaining findings
  • Advanced Excel proficiency with pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
  • Clear communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Preferred: experience with billing, receivables, reconciliations, or month-end reporting
  • Preferred: experience using ERP systems, reporting tools, or process improvement methods
  • Preferred: familiarity with GAAP and revenue recognition principles
  • Preferred ability to type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy
  • Preferred flexibility to travel as needed
