Senior Data Engineer in Bangalore

Lead data strategy, engineering teams, scalable pipelines, governance, and analytics for Assembly Global’s Bangalore-based onsite operation. Enable reliable data and measurable business decisions across product, business, and operational teams.

Description

  • Set and execute the organization’s data vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop data engineers, analysts, and scientists.
  • Coordinate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to connect data programs with organizational objectives.
  • Direct the design, delivery, and ongoing operation of scalable ETL and ELT pipelines.
  • Manage data architecture across AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and BigQuery environments.
  • Optimize data platforms for availability, performance, and cost control.
  • Create and uphold data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Build monitoring, testing, and alerting processes that protect data quality and platform reliability.
  • Provide stakeholders with accurate, dependable, and timely data for informed decisions.
  • Establish and monitor product, business, and operational performance indicators.
  • Strengthen data adoption across teams through education, training, and advocacy.

Requirements

  • At least seven years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related discipline, including two or more years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and contemporary data frameworks such as PySpark and dbt.
  • Practical experience with Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift, plus orchestration platforms including Airflow, Databricks, or Prefect.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and operate large-scale batch and streaming data architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, GDPR and CCPA compliance, and information security practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Background in fast-moving environments, preferably within SaaS, adtech, or consumer data platforms.
