Senior Contracts Manager

Lead contract strategy, negotiations, and administration for NANA North’s aviation, construction, engineering, food services, and security operations. The role focuses on contractual risk, regulatory compliance, and practical support for teams across the organization.

Description

  • Manage a varied portfolio of commercial service offers across aviation, construction, engineering, food services, and security
  • Partner with Operations and contracts leaders on strategy and strategic contract opportunities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Developers, Operations, Legal, and senior management
  • Support negotiations and provide expertise throughout contract implementation, execution, and administration
  • Draft terms and conditions for confidentiality and teaming agreements, pricing proposals, and related assumptions
  • Review contracts and redline requested changes to support compliance, reduce risk, strengthen financial outcomes, and align with business strategy
  • Verify that review documents meet applicable federal and state requirements
  • Prepare formal correspondence that reflects contract terms, conditions, and internal management objectives
  • Apply established contract policies and procedures
  • Contribute to reviews focused on operational efficiency and process improvement
  • Interpret contract policies, operating practices, and performance standards
  • Travel approximately 15% and work across urban and non-urban settings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, plus 6–10 years of directly relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, including indemnity, warranty, and performance acceptance
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience with or knowledge of data-management systems, including CLM, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record over the previous three years
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in urban and non-urban areas using varied transportation
  • Ability to work effectively in less-than-ideal offices, facilities, or circumstances
  • Advanced contract drafting and negotiation expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to turn complex legal issues into practical guidance for business and HR leaders
  • Strong litigation oversight and dispute resolution capabilities
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professional handling of sensitive matters
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Training in business processes such as accounting, finance, or contract law is desired
  • Experience with Alaska Native Corporations and rural business operations is preferred
  • Familiarity with the Alaska business community, including the oil and gas or mining sectors, is preferred
