Remote Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner – Georgia Jurisdiction

Sedgwick is seeking a remote workers' compensation claims examiner to adjudicate Georgia lost-time claims for insurance clients. The role involves investigating exposure, negotiating settlements, and managing claims through resolution.

Description

  • Assess Georgia lost-time claims for clients and determine benefits due
  • Adjudicate claims continuously in line with service standards, industry practices, and client requirements
  • Process claims using action plans to achieve timely, appropriate resolutions
  • Investigate claims and collect information needed to assess exposure
  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority
  • Keep claimants and clients informed about claim activity and processing
  • Report claims to excess carriers
  • Address direction requests promptly and professionally
  • Work with a global expert network and exchange insights
  • Provide client-facing claims solutions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred
  • Three to five years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required
  • Knowledge of the Georgia jurisdiction is required; experience across additional states is preferred
  • A valid workers' compensation license reciprocal with multiple jurisdictions is required
  • Ability to analyze and process claims
  • Ability to investigate claims and collect exposure information
  • Ability to negotiate settlements within assigned authority
  • Ability to communicate claim activity with claimants and clients
  • Clear, conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, and discretionary skills
  • Ability to manage work-related stress and competing priorities
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Computer keyboarding proficiency
