Remote DevOps Engineer in North Carolina

Automate enterprise application delivery and testing with Jenkins, Ansible, cloud infrastructure, and PeopleSoft environments. Support managed services across Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, OpenStack, and AWS.

Description

  • Build Jenkins pipelines for functional and web service automation that support continuous delivery.
  • Apply Ansible and Ansible Tower to configuration management, automation, deployments, and change control.
  • Maintain Windows Server 2012/2016 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 environments, using VMware and vSphere Client for cloning, snapshots, and automated deployments.
  • Develop and onboard pipeline applications and systems in partnership with the Enterprise Platform Team.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities and patch hosts.
  • Coordinate software updates with Ansible and validate system functionality.
  • Define operational viability standards and create automated Ansible playbooks and PHP scripts.
  • Implement and maintain Ansible configuration management across OpenStack cloud environments.
  • Administer multiple nodes and inventories through Ansible Tower.
  • Configure RALLY workflows, customizations, plugins, and Jenkins integrations with RALLY and GitHub.
  • Create Chocolatey packages and PowerShell solutions for Windows environments.
  • Contribute to application requirements analysis with business owners.
  • Coordinate Scrum code-drop meetings with development teams.
  • Strengthen test lifecycle planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Create test data with SQL queries and database schema joins.
  • Design test cases for enterprise web services, XML, SOAP, and REST APIs using SoapUI.
  • Conduct benchmark, load, stress, and endurance testing for web applications.
  • Use ALM, Jira, Splunk, and Grafana for defect management and system monitoring.
  • Collaborate with global consultants and technologists providing managed enterprise application services, cloud hosting, and consulting for PeopleSoft, Workday, and AWS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, plus three to five years of progressive documented experience as a business systems analyst or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three years of progressive documented experience integrating business systems with PeopleSoft technology.
  • Substantial experience with a strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM.
  • Experience with Benefits initiatives such as the Affordable Care Act or state-mandated leave programs is a plus.
  • Experience participating in full-lifecycle ERP implementations or upgrades is preferred.
  • Staffing industry experience or an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Mail, Calendar, and shared drives.
  • Broad understanding of standard business processes.
  • Experience with human resources-focused PeopleSoft applications.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Query, SQL, and TOAD.
  • Proficiency with business applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • U.S. work authorization that does not currently or potentially require employment visa sponsorship is required.
  • Legal authorization to work full time in the United States is required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation is required.
