Remote Data Analyst and Data Engineer - IRS Compliance

Build ETL pipelines, databases, and analytical solutions supporting Cayuse’s IRS compliance work. Partner with government clients, data scientists, and software engineers.

Description

  • Engage government clients to clarify business needs and establish data engineering and analysis goals
  • Source data and create dependable integration and processing workflows
  • Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and database architectures
  • Clean, transform, and explore data to uncover useful insights
  • Partner with data scientists and software engineers to deliver scalable, reliable pipelines
  • Create and maintain models and views that support data access, visualization, and analysis
  • Improve data storage, indexing, and query performance
  • Present analytical findings and proposed solutions to clients
  • Translate complex analytical ideas for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Own assigned work and produce high-quality deliverables with limited supervision
  • Handle additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, database management, and analytical methods
  • Experience designing and implementing processing solutions for relational or unstructured data
  • Experience with structured databases and query languages such as PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Experience tuning SQL queries for performance
  • Spark or Hadoop experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with SAS, R, or Stata is helpful but not required
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented language, such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Strong technical project management and collaboration skills

  • Ability to turn client and team needs into actionable deliverables or analytical plans
  • Strong client-facing and team collaboration skills
  • Critical thinking and exceptional attention to detail
