Lead enterprise storage architecture and on-premises AI infrastructure strategy at Humana. Own roadmaps, modernization, resilience, governance, and strategic technology partnerships across large-scale infrastructure.

Description

  • Set the enterprise storage vision, reference architectures, engineering standards, and five-year roadmap across block, file, object, software-defined, and hybrid services.
  • Architect on-premises AI infrastructure with high-throughput, low-latency storage for model training, inference, data pipelines, GPU platforms, and large unstructured datasets.
  • Define patterns for data placement, lifecycle management, tiering, retention, encryption, immutability, replication, archiving, and secure disposition.
  • Design storage platforms that satisfy performance, capacity, availability, recoverability, disaster recovery, resilience, and service-level objectives.
  • Develop workload-specific storage tiers and reusable architecture patterns for virtualized, containerized, database, analytics, and AI environments.
  • Lead capacity forecasting, performance modeling, technology refresh planning, and financial analysis.
  • Assess emerging storage technologies through proofs of concept, benchmarking, risk analysis, and total-cost-of-ownership evaluations.
  • Provide technical direction for modernization, migration, consolidation, upgrade, and decommissioning programs.
  • Build observability, automation, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and self-service capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and data governance teams to improve controls, evidence, recoverability, and ransomware resilience.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex storage performance, availability, interoperability, and data integrity problems, directing root-cause analysis and remediation.
  • Produce architecture documentation, standards, decision records, executive presentations, and investment recommendations.

  • Typically 10 or more years of enterprise infrastructure experience, including substantial storage engineering and architecture responsibility in complex environments.
  • Track record of developing multi-year technology strategies, reference architectures, roadmaps, standards, and investment plans.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAN, NAS, object storage, storage networking, replication, snapshots, data reduction, quality of service, and highly available designs.
  • Hands-on architecture and engineering experience with Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, and IBM storage platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, classification, retention, legal holds, encryption, access controls, privacy, compliance, and secure disposal.
  • Experience designing storage for on-premises AI and high-performance data platforms, including GPU workloads, parallel access, high-bandwidth networking, and large-scale pipelines.
  • Expertise in capacity planning, performance analysis, workload characterization, availability engineering, disaster recovery, and cyber-recovery architecture.
  • Experience integrating storage with Linux, Windows, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, databases, backup platforms, and hybrid-cloud services.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code using Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, or comparable tools.
  • Business acumen to build cost models, assess vendor proposals, quantify risk, and present recommendations to executive leaders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and mentoring abilities, with influence across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Relevant vendor or industry certifications in storage, cloud, security, networking, Kubernetes, or enterprise architecture are preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, financial services, or another highly regulated enterprise environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NVMe, NVMe over Fabrics, Ethernet and Fibre Channel storage networking, parallel file systems, data lakes, and modern object-storage architectures is preferred.
  • Experience with FinOps, chargeback or showback, sustainability planning, and enterprise technology lifecycle management is preferred.
