Principal Electrical Engineer, System Test — Oklahoma City

Lead system testing and verification for classified aerospace systems at Northrop Grumman. Develop test procedures, plans, and schedules in Oklahoma City and at Tinker AFB.

Description

  • Serve as a laboratory system test engineer
  • Lead Level III system verification activities
  • Create test procedures from Level III requirements
  • Build deep expertise in the assigned subsystem
  • Use test infrastructure to rehearse and execute system-level verification
  • Verify system-level hardware and software capabilities for a classified program
  • Translate contractual customer needs into test solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules
  • Support occasional shift work and overtime
  • Work full time in a classified development environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field plus 5 years of related professional or military experience, or a master’s degree plus 3 years, or a STEM Ph.D. plus 1 year
  • Active U.S. government Secret or higher clearance, with a background investigation completed within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable timeframe
  • Experience providing technical support for test programs
  • Availability and willingness to work multiple shifts and nonstandard hours
  • Current, active Top Secret clearance preferred
  • Current, active Program Access preferred
  • Preferred test-program support experience spanning aircraft OFP updates, laboratory instrumentation, planning, post-test review, and closeout
  • Knowledge of the MIL-STD-1553 communication protocol preferred
  • Experience with HF, UHF, or VHF communications preferred
  • Weapons system test experience preferred
  • At least 2 years of test and evaluation experience preferred
  • Experience with START and Jira preferred
  • Knowledge of Air Force life-cycle sustainment processes preferred
  • Knowledge of IFC development processes preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile software development preferred
  • U.S. citizenship required for positions involving a government clearance
