Principal Electrical Engineer, SCIF | Arcadis

Lead secure facility and federal electrical engineering projects for Arcadis, with expertise in SCIF design, ICD 705 compliance, and TEMPEST shielding. Oversee compliant design delivery, project execution, client engagement, and multidisciplinary team development.

Description

  • Direct electrical design teams while developing junior staff
  • Create construction-ready design packages aligned with project documentation and scope requirements
  • Design facilities for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)
  • Deliver SCIF designs incorporating ICD 705 requirements and TEMPEST shielding
  • Manage project lifecycle responsibilities, including budgets, proposals, schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation
  • Support business development and maintain client relationships across federal, state, and local government sectors
  • Verify adherence to applicable federal and industry standards
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and federal clients
  • Travel approximately 20% for site visits and client meetings

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required for federal project assignments
  • At least 15 years of consulting engineering experience in facility design, including extensive federal government or agency work
  • Demonstrated experience producing IFC design packages for federal facilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license; multiple state licenses are preferred
  • Experience designing facilities for USACE or NAVFAC
  • Experience with SCIFs, ICD 705 compliance, and TEMPEST shielding
  • Fluency in ETAP and SpecsIntact, plus experience with Revit, Autodesk Forma, AutoCAD, Elum Tools, SKM, EDSA, and Easy Power
  • Knowledge of federal and industry standards, including UFC, UFGS, NFPA, NEC, NESC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UBC, IEC, CE, and EN
  • Exceptional presentation, speaking, and written communication abilities
