Principal Contract Administrator – Northrop Grumman, Lake Charles, LA

Lead government contract administration for Northrop Grumman defense programs in Lake Charles, including proposals, negotiations, compliance, financial performance, and risk management. Coordinate contract activities across multiple U.S. sites from business development through closeout.

Description

  • Support government programs, capture efforts, proposal work, and contract operations
  • Report to Contracts Leadership
  • Partner with business, operations, capture, and other functional teams
  • Oversee contracts from business development through final closeout
  • Help advance customer satisfaction, financial results, and risk reduction
  • Independently handle complex assignments while supporting Finance, Program Management, and senior management
  • Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and administration throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Manage daily contract activities across product lines and contract structures, including cost-reimbursable and firm-fixed-price agreements
  • Set payment terms and oversee invoicing, collections, and funding activities
  • Maintain contract, financial, and delivery information across company systems
  • Attend customer meetings and track adherence to contractual obligations
  • Direct contract change management activities
  • Negotiate nondisclosure agreements and contractual terms within company policies
  • Advise program leadership, site management, and customers on contract matters

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a related master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of the FAR and DFARS
  • Experience working with multiple contract types
  • Ability to research FAR and DFARS requirements accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to interpret regulatory changes and assess their effect on contracts and subcontracts
  • Sound judgment for resolving complex issues while limiting corporate risk
  • Defense-industry contracts experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication with internal and external customers preferred
  • Ability to work independently preferred
  • Ability to learn and use varied data-entry software while adapting to tool changes preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of government contracting requirements preferred; U.S. citizenship required for positions involving government clearance and certain restricted roles
  • Preferred: experience in the defense industry specifically in a contracts role
