P&I Claims Executive – London

Manage P&I insurance claims for Steamship Mutual and advise Members across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Description

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing Members supported by the Claims team.
  • Manage assigned claims in line with company procedures.
  • Advise on claims matters and identify opportunities for loss prevention.
  • File electronic correspondence accurately and promptly in the relevant claim records.
  • Maintain and update electronic claim files.
  • Help improve company procedures and systems.
  • Write relevant articles for Club publications.
  • Support the objectives of Syndicate Underwriting.
  • Meet with service providers, Club correspondents, lawyers and brokers.
  • Attend relevant training and develop role-related knowledge and skills.
  • Undertake other duties and ad hoc tasks within the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Degree-level education or equivalent, with a strong academic background.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of P&I insurance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including negotiation, presentation and reporting.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong organisation, motivation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines and prioritise personal workload.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to use initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
