Description

  • Develop and maintain billing systems serving millions of customers
  • Manage a billing domain from business requirements through design, release, and monitoring
  • Connect internal and third-party services using APIs, webhooks, and events
  • Update integrations as external systems evolve
  • Work with other teams and address billing-related questions
  • Review code and help shape engineering practices
  • Keep billing systems current and up to date
  • Improve legacy code and streamline existing processes
  • Maintain accurate pricing across taxes, customer location, and sales rules
  • Design for reliable asynchronous processing when events are delayed or duplicated

Requirements

  • Communicate complex problems and technical trade-offs clearly in writing and discussion
  • Explain and support technical decisions when challenged
  • Apply architectural thinking to domains and system boundaries
  • Use PHP confidently with strong object-oriented programming and design-pattern knowledge
  • Work hands-on with REST APIs, SQL, queues, and event-driven architectures
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests
  • Contribute effectively to large-scale production systems
  • Bring on-call experience where possible
