Operations Project Manager – Nordex Group, Chicago Onsite

Lead execution readiness for Nordex Group’s onshore wind energy projects in Chicago. Coordinate construction, logistics, safety, quality, and commissioning teams.

Description

  • Drive execution readiness for power plant projects
  • Develop and refine operations strategies with the project team using collected and analyzed information
  • Coordinate Safety, Planning, Logistics, Material Management, Quality, Construction, and Commissioning functions
  • Maintain the weekly project execution readiness template, tracking deadlines, progress, and deviation alerts
  • Maintain the weekly and monthly execution readiness KPI dashboards
  • Complete Construction team execution readiness activities until the site team is appointed
  • Connect PMEPC with Nacelles and Blades GLFs through the PCT execution readiness roundtable to monitor main-component readiness
  • Provide offsite assistance to projects during execution when required
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or an equivalent combination of work experience
  • At least four years of equivalent professional experience
  • Familiarity with the complete life cycle of power projects and business development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, supported by a record of successful project planning
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and contract implementation
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of financial management principles
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to present information effectively and answer questions from manager and customer groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • A full, valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company’s auto insurance policy
  • Commitment to applicable safety protocols, procedures, regulations, and company policies
  • Ability to use required safety equipment
  • Fluent spoken and understood English
