Blue Ventures
Blue Ventures
Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation working alongside small-scale fishers and coastal communities to rebuild fisheries and protect ocean life. Its work began in Madagascar and now spans more than a dozen countries, where it partners with traditional fishing communities and local organisations to develop and sustain community-led fisheries management. The organisation also connects partners to share practical tools and advocate for reforms that support coastal livelihoods, food security and healthy oceans. Its hiring brings people into work focused on community fisheries and marine conservation.

Partner-Centred Design Consultant

Blue Ventures seeks a consultant to research partner experiences and assess how its organisational support model serves partners. The work will develop and apply a shared service design framework, with a primary focus on Frontline Community Fund partners.

Description

  • Review the full experience of working with Blue Ventures
  • Trace how organisational decisions shape that experience
  • Assess how training and learning, partnerships, programme performance, data science and advocacy engage partners and coordinate their work
  • Conduct research directly with partners
  • Evaluate and challenge current organisational arrangements
  • Develop alternative ways to support partners
  • Introduce a shared framework Blue Ventures can continue using after the consultancy
  • Apply the framework to selected priority areas and demonstrate its value
  • Help teams build the understanding and practices to sustain the framework
  • Focus primarily on partners funded through the Frontline Community Fund (FCF)
  • Complement the broader Partnership Strategy and internal operating model review; the consultancy does not own the overall strategy, a comprehensive internal efficiency review or full implementation of recommendations.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in service design, customer experience (CX), user experience (UX) or human-centred service transformation
  • Expertise in interpreting and challenging existing arrangements
  • Ability to develop alternative approaches and show how partner support could be designed and delivered differently
  • Ability to introduce and apply a shared framework that remains in use beyond the consultancy
  • Available for a consultancy lasting three to four months
