Lead Java Full-Stack Software Engineer – Chennai Onsite

Description

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Caterpillar’s digital platform
  • Build a scalable platform for a broad range of digital applications
  • Guide engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software at scale
  • Develop product plans, resource and scope estimates, and feature specifications with technical leads
  • Support competency development to deliver high-quality, well-matched technical solutions

Requirements

  • 14+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale
  • Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE technologies, and cloud-based environments
  • Experience leading engineers and providing technical guidance
  • Expert knowledge of JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL, Spring, JUnit, and JSON
  • Expertise with REST and JSON web services
  • Strong knowledge of Java design patterns
  • At least 3 years of experience deploying and maintaining software on public clouds such as Azure
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of MVC, microservices, event-driven, and other application architecture patterns
  • Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GoCD, Azure DevOps, and Confluence
  • Experience working in an Agile framework, preferably Scrum
  • Experience designing well-defined RESTful APIs
  • Experience creating API proxies with platforms such as Apigee Edge, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Manager
  • Hands-on experience with Swagger, Postman, and Assertible
  • Experience with test-driven and behavior-driven development
  • Hands-on experience integrating Cucumber with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience using mocking and unit testing frameworks
  • Expertise in writing and debugging multithreaded applications
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
  • Experience creating product plans, resource and scope estimates, and feature technical specifications
  • Knowledge of OAuth and JSON Web Tokens
  • Advanced knowledge of security and cybersecurity best practices
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques
