Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Malta Hybrid

Lead the infrastructure function across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and Kubernetes environments for Gaming Innovation Group’s technology department. Drive automation, reliability, security, and vendor SLA performance in Malta.

Description

  • Lead and develop the infrastructure team, allocating resources effectively while supporting a high-performance culture and project delivery
  • Create scalable hybrid infrastructure roadmaps and Kubernetes-focused architectures that support business objectives
  • Advance Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation with Ansible and Terraform to improve deployment efficiency
  • Oversee performance, monitoring, and availability across physical servers, networks, storage systems, and Kubernetes clusters
  • Coordinate incident response and scheduled maintenance outside standard working hours
  • Work with InfoSec to apply security controls, conduct risk assessments, and maintain audit readiness
  • Assess third-party technologies and manage vendor relationships to uphold agreed service levels

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure or operations teams
  • Experience defining operational metrics such as MTTR, MTTD, uptime SLAs, cloud cost optimization, and incident response frameworks
  • Strong organizational, resource-planning, and project management abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of on-premises hardware, including physical servers, SAN/NAS storage, and enterprise networking
  • Expert-level Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and Ansible
  • Hands-on experience designing and managing multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Kubernetes and cloud certifications, including CKA, CKAD, CKS, or AWS, Azure, or GCP Solutions Architect certifications, are desirable
  • Linux, systems, and virtualization certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, VMware VCP-DCV, or legacy MCSA/MCSE certifications are desirable
  • Networking and IT management certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or ITIL Foundation/Practitioner are desirable
