Kettle Campaign Coordinator – Port Alberni (Hybrid)

Coordinate The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign in Port Alberni, including volunteers, donations, kettle sites, and daily operations. Support campaign logistics, reporting, donor questions, and post-campaign equipment handling.

Description

  • Manage the daily operation of the Christmas Kettle Campaign
  • Maximize volunteer participation and donations while maintaining reliable, compliant kettle coverage
  • Complete campaign and Salesforce training and review the Kettle Playbook
  • Arrange kettle deliveries before volunteers begin their shifts
  • Ensure donations reach a secure location after each shift
  • Organize daily kettle-counting volunteers and record revenue in the online kettle system
  • Resolve Tip Tap issues
  • Report daily problems and supply shortages to Administration
  • Orient, remind, supervise, support, and assign kettle volunteers
  • Help recruit additional volunteers
  • Visit kettle sites during shift changes and at intervals throughout the campaign
  • Submit accurate bi-weekly timesheets and mileage reports on time
  • Answer prospective donors’ questions about Salvation Army programs and ministries
  • Coordinate and attend kettle locations at special events
  • Collect, pack, and store campaign equipment after the campaign
  • Package and ship returned Tip Taps
  • Follow up with kettle-site contacts and prepare thank-you letters
  • Compile a campaign summary report for the Officer
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
  • Complete other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Some high school coursework is required; high school completion is an asset
  • A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are required
  • A satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required
  • At least one year of related or customer service experience
  • Money-handling experience is an asset
  • Willingness to understand and support The Salvation Army’s mission and purpose
  • Ability to comply with the OH&S Act and Regulations and The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic team-oriented approach
  • Ability to lift 9 to 12 kg (20–25 lb)
  • Strong customer service capabilities
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure as priorities change
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability and willingness to complete applicable screening and background checks successfully
  • Availability for duties that are often performed outside regular office hours
