Junior Software Engineer - Remote, United States

Join Key Capture Energy as a junior software engineer developing proprietary software for battery energy storage dispatch optimization. Contribute to applications, APIs, ETL workflows, databases, and testing frameworks.

Description

  • Collaborate with the software engineering director or an engineering mentor on work aligned with team objectives
  • Contribute to production software, test applications, and testing frameworks
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations for project tracking and technical reviews
  • Develop reports, APIs, web services, web solutions, ETL workflows, database functionality, and other features for KCE’s proprietary software
  • Extend the existing codebase with new features and capabilities
  • Populate, analyze, and modify data in MS SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric
  • Take part in design discussions and peer code reviews
  • Handle additional duties as needed

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate education in software engineering, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Python and/or C#, .NET, HTML, and CSS
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio, GitHub, and Azure
  • Understanding of client-server architecture and web services
  • General knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines and Docker containers
  • Exposure to object-oriented design, data structures, and design patterns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Interest in clean energy and power markets
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience with SQL and large datasets is advantageous
