Software Engineer Intern Omaha Hybrid

Join WoodmenLife as a software engineering intern supporting Azure-based solutions in a hybrid Omaha setting. Develop, test, and maintain applications while contributing to Agile delivery with Microsoft technologies.

Description

  • Build organizational insight through weekly intern cohort sessions, executive leadership meetings, and individual meetings with division leaders.
  • Prepare and deliver a capstone presentation highlighting internship achievements, skills developed, and key lessons.
  • Contribute as a Developer on the Agile intern team.
  • Work with development teams to build and maintain Microsoft-based software, with an emphasis on Azure services and tools.
  • Administer Azure DevOps pipelines and work items for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Help design and develop software systems that are scalable, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and test applications with Java, C#, .NET, and Python.
  • Take part in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile practices.
  • Follow engineering standards for version control, documentation, and peer code reviews.

Requirements

  • Be a college sophomore, junior, or senior studying Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Be available to work 38.75 hours per week.
  • Have solid computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Have experience with software development, code repositories, and integrated development environments.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in collaborative work settings.
  • Deliver seamless, trustworthy, attentive, and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.
  • Show enthusiasm for making a difference in local communities.
  • Successfully complete applicable criminal background, credit, fingerprint, drug screening, and reference checks.
  • Be able to work effectively in a flexible hybrid environment.
