Junior Fraud Analyst – Vienna Hybrid at Unzer
Monitor payment transactions, investigate suspected fraud, and refine detection rules for Unzer’s European payments platform. Use transaction analysis, risk engines, and reporting to help protect merchants across channels.
Description
- Monitor transactions daily
- Report suspected fraud to merchants
- Investigate and follow up on suspected fraud cases
- Implement countermeasures based on fraud patterns, including rules tailored to specific patterns
- Maintain fraud rules using the TM rule engine and internal risk engine
- Compare transactions stopped by the Stop Fraud process with false positives
- Track business performance metrics by merchant and channel
- Create and enhance reports that monitor metrics and reveal potential gaps
- Handle confidential correspondence, including lawyers’ letters, customer letters, insolvency letters, and police inquiries
- Take part in the interview process, including an introductory call, optional assignment, team discussion, and possible manager call
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative discipline
- At least one year of experience in a comparable fraud prevention role
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenging established practices
- Experience using fraud detection software and tools
- Working knowledge of SQL or a comparable coding language; experience creating Tableau reports is advantageous
- Enthusiasm and a practical mindset for building a state-of-the-art risk management framework on an established foundation
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to contribute constructively in a changing environment
- Fluent spoken and written English; German is an advantage
