GPU Backend Compiler Engineer at NVIDIA (Remote)

Improve NVIDIA’s proprietary C++ GPU compiler backend through code-generation work and optimization. Help advance compiler technology for graphics, CUDA, and AI computing architectures.

Description

  • Analyze, modify, and enhance NVIDIA’s proprietary C++ GPU compiler backend
  • Design and implement compiler passes and optimization techniques
  • Build robust, maintainable, and supportable compiler tools
  • Partner with compiler, hardware, and application teams worldwide to resolve issues and improve products
  • Contribute to deep-learning compiler technology from architecture and support through functional-language development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least three years of experience with compiler code generation
  • Advanced practical proficiency in C++
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals focused on robust, maintainable solutions
  • Effective communication and technical documentation skills
  • Self-directed and motivated approach to work
  • Master’s or Ph.D. with substantial compiler project or thesis experience preferred
  • Experience with LLVM code generation, including instruction scheduling, software pipelining, register allocation, GlobalISel, TableGen, LLVM IR, and Machine IR
  • Experience building applications with CUDA, DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan
