Description

Partner with developers, strategists, designers, and project managers across client projects
Build custom WordPress themes and plugins while configuring complete WordPress websites
Evaluate, configure, and troubleshoot WordPress plugins
Keep WordPress installations reliable by updating core and plugins and preventing regressions
Produce clear technical and project documentation
Engage with the open-source community through participation and contributions
Coordinate with clients and colleagues working outside Quebec

Requirements

At least five years of professional WordPress development experience
Ability to build WordPress themes and plugins according to established best practices
Hands-on experience creating modern WordPress sites with the block editor, theme.json, and hybrid themes, including production launches
Familiarity with the Site Editor and block themes is a plus
Experience collaborating within a team and following a standardized development process
Proficiency with the Linux command line, Git, and Docker-based tools such as DDEV, Lando, or wp-env
Deep knowledge of block-editor APIs, including React-based custom blocks and custom plugin development
Solid understanding of software development practices
Experience with managed hosting platforms such as Pantheon or WordPress VIP is a plus
Advanced skills in HTML, PHP, CSS with SASS, and JavaScript
Strong interest in the evolving WordPress ecosystem, particularly Gutenberg
Experience with project management platforms such as Redmine or Jira
Excellent French and English communication skills; English proficiency is required
Experience creating accessible, WCAG-compliant websites is a plus
Experience with Drupal or other web development platforms is a plus
Open-source contributions are a plus
Previous agency experience is a plus
Availability during Montreal business hours
Comfort using collaboration tools such as Slack to remain connected with the team
Highly effective self-management and proactive communication skills
