Supply Chain Contract Manager – Telesat Lightspeed

Manage complex supplier contracts and negotiations supporting Telesat Lightspeed satellite communications. The role covers supplier governance, compliance, and risk across defence, aerospace, government, and technology initiatives.

Description

  • Manage supplier contracts from start to finish across the supply chain.
  • Keep suppliers aligned with their contractual obligations.
  • Negotiate amendments, change orders, claims, renewals, and dispute resolutions.
  • Keep complete, accurate, and auditable contract records.
  • Work with Legal to draft, review, negotiate, and implement commercial agreements.
  • Draft, negotiate, interpret, and administer complex commercial agreements, contract terms, amendments, and statements of work.
  • Advise stakeholders on contract obligations, commercial risk, and governance.
  • Set negotiation approaches and lead commercial discussions.
  • Identify and reduce contractual, commercial, financial, operational, and supplier performance risks.
  • Support procurement and contract management for Telesat Lightspeed and other strategic initiatives, with a focus on defence, aerospace, and government procurement.
  • Ensure supplier agreements address contractual, regulatory, security, export control, Controlled Goods Program, and government contracting requirements.
  • Support Industrial and Technological Benefits obligations when applicable.
  • Track supplier and subcontractor compliance.
  • Work with stakeholders on audits, compliance reporting, and contract deliverables.
  • Review, develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Find ways to improve procurement, contract management, supplier governance, and operational efficiency.
  • Include required ITB flow-down provisions in supplier contracts, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
  • Administer contract mechanisms that assign and manage financial liabilities for ITB commitments.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Program Management, and other stakeholders on compliance reporting, audits, and contract deliverables.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, contract management, or a related commercial role.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and administering complex commercial agreements and supplier contracts.
  • Experience supporting defence, aerospace, or government programs and ITB requirements is a strong asset.
  • A professional procurement designation is an asset.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and commercial management skills.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions and risk management principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound business judgment and analytical thinking.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High integrity and attention to detail.
  • English and French bilingualism is an asset.
