Description

  • Oversee and evaluate cloud spending across Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud, and other providers
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and recurring reports covering budgets, forecasts, cost drivers, unit economics, allocation, commitment coverage and utilization, and realized savings
  • Create and refine SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and reconcile extensive cloud cost and usage data
  • Contribute to cloud budgeting and forecasting, examine variances, maintain assumptions, and deliver actionable financial insights
  • Administer commitment portfolios covering reservations, savings plans, and committed-use discounts
  • Find, quantify, rank, and monitor opportunities to reduce cloud costs
  • Strengthen cost allocation through account and subscription design, tagging practices, shared-cost methods, and showback or chargeback reporting
  • Track spending anomalies and budget limits, determine root causes, coordinate remediation, and communicate financial exposure
  • Work with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and cloud providers to turn cost information into recommendations
  • Lead FinOps initiatives from scoping and business-case development through delivery and benefits validation, maintaining plans, ownership, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, data analytics, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, financial analysis, business intelligence, data analytics, cloud operations, or a related area
  • Practical experience analyzing cloud billing and usage data
  • Working understanding of cost-management concepts across Azure, AWS, and IBM Cloud
  • Advanced Power BI capability, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, dashboard creation, scheduled refreshes, data quality controls, and audience-specific visualization
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience querying, joining, transforming, and validating large financial, operational, or cloud usage datasets
  • Experience assessing and managing cloud commitment discounts such as reservations, savings plans, or committed-use discounts through coverage, utilization, break-even, and risk analysis
  • Experience with cloud budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost allocation, anomaly management, and comparing realized with projected savings
  • Ability to run multiple analytical or cost optimization initiatives, manage dependencies and risks, and deliver with limited supervision
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent cloud financial management training is highly preferred
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or a relevant AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud certification is highly preferred
  • Experience with the FinOps Framework, FOCUS-aligned cost data, unit economics, showback or chargeback, and cost allocation or tagging governance is highly preferred
  • Experience automating data ingestion, reporting, or cost controls through APIs, Python, PowerShell, or cloud-native tools is highly preferred
  • Understanding of fundamental AI concepts and responsible AI use
  • Ability to write effective prompts
  • Experience using or administering autonomous or agentic AI systems is welcome
