Field Service Engineer – France (Remote)

TOMRA is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot optical food-sorting equipment. The role supports customers across France, including Bordeaux and Agen, through technical service, operator training, and remote assistance.

Description

  • Install and commission sorting equipment at customer sites
  • Carry out maintenance, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting activities
  • Train equipment operators and maintenance staff
  • Provide customers with practical technical guidance
  • Act as TOMRA’s trusted field-service representative
  • Deliver preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing for customers near Bordeaux or Agen
  • Conduct operator training following machine installations
  • Provide occasional field support to customers elsewhere in France
  • Plan and prepare customer visits from a home office
  • Complete service reports and maintain technical documentation
  • Offer remote technical support when required

Requirements

  • A BAC+2 or equivalent technical qualification in electrotechnics, industrial maintenance, automation, electronics, or a related field
  • Practical experience diagnosing electrical faults and resolving electromechanical issues
  • Fluency in French
  • Effective English communication skills for technical and professional settings
  • Field service, customer-site maintenance, commissioning, installation, or travelling technical support experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on industrial equipment in customer-facing settings
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, networking fundamentals, and PC configuration
  • A strong customer-service orientation with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • A valid driving licence
