Director of Solutions Architecture at The Baldwin Group (Hybrid)

Lead solution architecture, cloud transformation, AI adoption, and governance at The Baldwin Group. Manage architecture teams, technology strategy, budgets, and modernization initiatives.

Description

  • Maintain the solution architecture roadmap, standards, and operating model
  • Govern architecture principles, reference patterns, and decision-making frameworks
  • Lead architecture reviews, decision records, and governance forums
  • Ensure solutions satisfy security, regulatory, resiliency, and business continuity requirements
  • Translate business and operational needs into scalable architectures and technology roadmaps
  • Guide application, integration, and cloud architecture, including API strategy, event-driven patterns, and interoperability
  • Evaluate and drive adoption of enterprise platforms, cloud services, integration technologies, and third-party solutions
  • Define reusable architecture frameworks, integration patterns, and design standards
  • Advance cloud reliability, observability, scalability, security, performance, and cost optimization
  • Assess AI, generative and agentic AI, intelligent automation, and emerging technologies
  • Define patterns for cloud-native development, distributed systems, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Data, Compliance, and Risk leaders
  • Advise senior technology leaders on architecture, modernization, and digital transformation
  • Lead, develop, and coach architecture managers and senior architects
  • Make hiring, performance, development, and succession decisions
  • Manage departmental budgets, technology investments, and architecture resources

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in solutions, application, integration, and cloud architecture within complex organizations
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, API architecture, event-driven systems, and modern application ecosystems
  • Experience leading architecture teams, including architects and technology leaders
  • Hands-on experience with API management and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Kong, or Apigee
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS, Azure, and modern cloud architecture principles
  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration, business rules engines, automation frameworks, and process optimization technologies
  • Experience designing and governing integrations between internal platforms and external partners, vendors, carriers, and service providers
  • Understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent automation, large language model integration, and agent orchestration
  • Knowledge of secure solution design, identity and access management, regulatory controls, and technology risk management
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences
  • Experience establishing architecture review boards, governance processes, and solution standards
  • Knowledge of observability, monitoring, resiliency engineering, scalability planning, and performance optimization
  • Proven ability to lead transformational initiatives and deliver results in dynamic environments
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10–12 years of progressive experience in solutions architecture, software engineering, technology strategy, or related roles, including at least 5 years leading architects, managers, or technical teams
  • Demonstrated success creating and executing solution architecture roadmaps and delivering large-scale modernization, cloud transformation, and integration initiatives
  • Proven ability to partner with senior technology and business leaders and influence technology decisions
  • Experience leading architecture governance and technology portfolio planning across complex, multi-platform environments
