Detection and Investigation Associate

Investigate suspicious banking activity and help mitigate fraud, anti-money laundering, and organizational-risk losses at PNC. Analyze cases, assess reporting and escalation needs, and support stronger internal controls.

Description

  • Investigate and mitigate suspicious banking activity.
  • Help control and prevent losses associated with fraud, anti-money laundering, and organizational risk.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal controls informed by root-cause analysis.
  • Detect suspicious activity and help prevent unlawful conduct.
  • Assist with recovering losses that have occurred.
  • Identify control gaps and enhancements with potentially significant financial impact.
  • Work independently with internal and external stakeholders, including authorities, agencies, and other financial institutions.
  • Conduct investigations into identified activity.
  • Use standard criteria and independent judgment to determine whether activity is reportable or requires escalation.
  • Prepare and maintain required investigation records.
  • Support customer-focused resolutions and enterprise risk-management practices.

Requirements

  • A university or college degree is typically required; an equivalent combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience may be considered instead.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is listed under Education.
  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering and sanctions policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of fraud detection and prevention practices.
  • Understanding of operational risk.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement.
