Data Analytics Engineer at Allstate - Remote Illinois

Build trusted risk datasets, dashboards, and automated reporting for Allstate’s insurance operations. Use SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Python, and Excel to strengthen risk controls and decision-making.

Description

  • Own complex risk analytics initiatives from requirements through delivery, validation, implementation, and operational support.
  • Convert business questions into actionable data, analytics, and reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain trusted risk datasets, semantic models, dashboards, reports, and reusable analytics products.
  • Combine and analyze data from internal platforms, vendor tools, external sources, and operational systems.
  • Automate data collection, preparation, validation, reconciliation, refreshes, and recurring reports.
  • Develop analytics that reveal trends, control weaknesses, emerging risks, performance gaps, and opportunities for risk action.
  • Support governed, analytics-ready data products for leadership reporting, operational insight, automation, and future AI capabilities.
  • Define best practices for data sourcing, transformation, quality, documentation, governance, access, and reporting adoption.
  • Coach analysts and support stakeholders through technical consultation, reusable templates, training, and practical guidance.
  • Collaborate with risk, control, regulatory, product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.
  • This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, risk analytics, data governance, operational reporting, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering analytics, reporting, or data product solutions from requirements through implementation and ongoing improvement.
  • Experience with risk, compliance, controls, audit, cybersecurity, technology operations, insurance, or other complex business data is preferred.
  • Experience improving data quality, reconciling sources, defining metrics, documenting business rules, or reducing manual reporting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Python, and advanced Excel.
  • Ability to lead complex risk analytics initiatives through requirements, delivery, validation, implementation, and operational support.
  • Ability to collaborate with risk, control, regulatory, product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Ability to define, document, and apply shared risk metrics, data definitions, business rules, and quality standards.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; Allstate generally does not sponsor employment-based visas for this position.
