Senior Virtualization and Orchestration Engineer - Hybrid, Bellevue
Build Kubernetes orchestration, GPU provisioning, and scheduling systems for a multi-tenant AI infrastructure cloud platform. Help operate reliable GPU compute across large-scale data centers.
Description
- Engineer virtualization infrastructure for GPU-intensive AI and HPC workloads
- Develop and operate Kubernetes orchestration systems for GPU cluster provisioning and workload scheduling
- Automate the allocation, scaling, and reclamation of GPU capacity across multiple tenants
- Create solutions for workload placement, resource management, and cluster lifecycle operations
- Collaborate with hardware, networking, infrastructure, and AI platform teams
- Strengthen the orchestration platform’s reliability, security, scalability, and operational maturity
- Develop tools and automation that simplify infrastructure management and improve developer and customer experiences
- Help shape architecture, engineering standards, and technical best practices
- Build the platform layer that enables dependable, large-scale GPU compute for customers of a multi-tenant AI cloud
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience running Kubernetes and container orchestration in production
- Experience designing, building, and operating infrastructure platforms at scale
- Background in virtualization technologies for cloud, HPC, GPU, or distributed computing environments
- Understanding of GPU cluster provisioning, workload scheduling, and resource management
- Working knowledge of Linux infrastructure and distributed systems
- Ability to take ownership of complex systems from initial design through production operations
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where architecture and processes are still being established
- Preferred: experience with GPU scheduling technologies such as Slurm, Kubernetes device plugins, NVIDIA GPU Operator, or comparable frameworks
- Preferred: experience supporting AI infrastructure, machine learning platforms, HPC environments, or GPU cloud providers
- Preferred: experience building multi-tenant infrastructure for cloud providers or large-scale compute environments
- Preferred: experience with infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering
- Preferred: familiarity with high-performance networking and GPU cluster architectures
- U.S. work authorization required
- Visa sponsorship is not currently available
- Ability and willingness to work approximately three days per week in a hybrid office arrangement in Bellevue, Washington
