Controller (California Remote)

Lead global accounting, billing, treasury, and financial controls for Sensiba LLP’s professional services organization. Manage a 13-person team supporting entities in the United States, Australia, and Ireland.

Description

  • Direct accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, treasury, and financial reporting for U.S. and international subsidiaries
  • Manage month-end and year-end financial close activities
  • Maintain consistent accounting policies, reporting standards, and controls across entities
  • Coordinate statutory reporting and regulatory compliance with local accounting, tax, and professional advisors
  • Strengthen accounting processes, workflows, systems, and internal controls
  • Automate manual work through technology, including AI tools
  • Manage international treasury, cash, foreign-currency transactions, intercompany funding, and banking relationships
  • Collaborate with the CFO on global treasury, liquidity, and growth planning
  • Unify billing practices across audit, tax, and consulting services
  • Create operating metrics and dashboards for accounting activities
  • Lead and mentor approximately 13 accounting professionals, including two direct reports
  • Set clear expectations, accountability measures, and development opportunities for the team
  • Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems and technology
  • Work with FP&A on budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial planning
  • Support mergers and acquisitions, integration work, and strategic initiatives
  • Enhance financial infrastructure to support sustained growth

Requirements

  • Experience managing accounting operations across multiple legal entities, ideally in international jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, internal controls, and close procedures
  • Professional services experience is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to improve processes, implement technology, and automate repetitive work
  • Working knowledge of international accounting and reporting, including foreign-currency translation and intercompany transactions
  • Experience managing international treasury, foreign-currency exposure, cash, and cross-border banking
  • Familiarity with accounting and regulatory requirements in Australia and Ireland is a plus
  • Experience using financial systems and accounting technology, including ERP and workflow automation platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to combine strategic judgment with careful execution
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and curiosity about finance operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial Controller-level or comparable leadership experience
