Client Relationship Manager

Support young Canadian entrepreneurs as they prepare funding applications by reviewing financials, coaching applicants, and coordinating adjudication and loan disbursements.

Description

  • Assess entrepreneur applications, business plans, cash flow, and program eligibility.
  • Flag potential eligibility concerns related to business plans, industries, timing, and other factors.
  • Review credit reports to assess financing eligibility.
  • Set funding limits, explain credit concerns, and connect entrepreneurs with credit improvement resources.
  • Assess business viability and guide applicants toward meeting application standards.
  • Review submissions and coach applicants on preparing viable business plans and cash flow forecasts.
  • Gather and assess supporting documents for complete applications submitted to National Adjudication.
  • Prepare summaries of information relevant to adjudication reviews.
  • Monitor workflow and estimate expected loan disbursement dates.
  • Respond to application questions and assess applications submitted by partners.
  • Help partners understand application requirements, documentation, and timelines.
  • Train partners on program details and submitting high-quality applications.
  • Prepare and communicate acceptance decisions and outstanding conditions for disbursement.
  • Route mentor matching requests to the mentoring specialist’s team.
  • Gather and review documents required to satisfy conditions.
  • Prepare, sign, and submit loan agreements, promissory notes, and related legal documents.
  • Coordinate with compliance teams, applicants, and mentors to complete loan disbursements.
  • Coordinate with adjudication, entrepreneur-in-residence, and loans teams to confirm eligibility compliance.
  • Advise business development on ways to increase interest from mentors and entrepreneurs.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Relevant preparation through education focused on business administration or finance, or equivalent practical career experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in client support or relations, finance or economics, or banking.
  • Strong customer service experience and a commitment to supporting customers.
  • Advanced financial analysis expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve organizational goals.
  • A proactive approach to resolving conflict.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Clear, confident communication and the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic hybrid environment.
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, with an openness to and advocacy for change.
  • French and English fluency, spoken and written, is an asset.
