Category Manager, Beer, Spirits and Wine - Orlando Onsite

Category Manager responsible for beer, spirits, and wine planograms, analytics, and category growth recommendations in Orlando. Partners with Breakthru Beverage Group sales teams and retail accounts to improve category performance.

Description

  • Implement category management strategies, plans, and programs for key accounts
  • Develop and present beer, spirits, and wine schematics for independent and chain retailers
  • Use brand-trend analysis to build shelf schematics
  • Produce computer-generated schematics for floor layouts, endcaps, shelf segments, cold space, test concepts, and total-store planograms
  • Support benchmark planogram validation
  • Deliver consumer and shopper insights that inform recommendations
  • Assess challenges and opportunities, then recommend ways to improve category sales and performance
  • Collaborate with sales teams to uncover brand and category opportunities within accounts
  • Support sales calls and develop category growth proposals for new and existing accounts
  • Work with independent and chain retailers to identify opportunities and create aligned action plans
  • Keep data sources current and consistent with category management processes
  • Manage category analytics and related resources
  • Analyze Sales Scan, Nielsen/IRI, NABCA, consumer panel, and depletion data
  • Assess category and segment performance through scorecards, assortment tools, pricing reports, and post-promotion analysis
  • Maintain master store lists, item lists, authorizations, store clusters, and other reference files
  • Work with regional category leaders to build space-planning libraries and operating practices
  • Complete additional duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent training and professional experience
  • At least five years of experience in the beverage alcohol or CPG industry
  • At least three years of CPG category management experience
  • Experience working with syndicated and retail POS data, including Nielsen and IRI
  • Experience analyzing depletion data
  • Advanced PC skills with Microsoft Office and presentation software
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Access or Power Pivot, Power BI, and JDA/Prospace
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with diplomacy and discretion
  • Customer service capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently or collaboratively, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines
  • Analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
  • Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the relevant field
  • Ability to stand, sit, speak, hear, and operate computers and telephones with hands and fingers
