Provide examinations, donor suitability assessments, and injury management at a Grifols plasma donation center. Support donor education, employee training, and workplace vaccination initiatives.

Description

  • Conduct physical examinations and document medical histories to assess donor suitability
  • Create a welcoming donor experience and support customer satisfaction
  • Protect donor and staff confidentiality
  • Explain potential hazards to donors
  • Educate donors about general health
  • Discuss unacceptable test results with donors
  • Assess and manage donor injuries and adverse events
  • Review illness and medication histories to confirm ongoing donor suitability
  • Support employee training activities
  • Administer the employee hepatitis vaccination program

Requirements

  • Hold current education and state-specific certification or licensure as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT
  • Maintain current CPR certification
  • Speak Spanish bilingually
  • Stand and sit for 2 to 4 hours per day each
  • Bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Perform frequent hand movements requiring coordinated finger, hand, and wrist precision
  • Perform frequent foot movements and occasionally squat, crouch, or sit on the heels
  • Lift 15 pounds regularly, with a maximum lifting capacity of 50 pounds
  • Meet essential hearing acuity requirements
  • Meet correctable near- and far-vision requirements
  • Communicate and understand spoken and written information
  • Work independently and follow oral or written instructions
  • Perform varied tasks in changing conditions
  • Communicate sensitive information to diverse groups
  • Work in a plasma center
  • Work around biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and temperatures below 32 degrees F
  • Use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-weather gear
