Architectural Sales Representative – New York Remote

Grow ASSA ABLOY door, hardware, and access-control specifications through architect relationships and specification-led sales. Support design teams with BIM tools, technical guidance, education, and project services.

Description

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with architects, designers, and other decision-makers
  • Increase specification-driven sales of door, hardware, and access-control solutions
  • Influence projects during early design stages and preserve product preference through completion
  • Identify, secure, and safeguard door and hardware specifications
  • Manage specification opportunity pipelines from initial design through bidding, award, and installation
  • Provide design teams with technical guidance and accurate project deliverables
  • Conduct continuing education programs to expand product knowledge and deepen customer relationships
  • Lead product substitutions, approvals, and value-engineering initiatives during bidding
  • Work with distributors, sales representatives, and internal teams to turn specifications into orders
  • Use Salesforce to document customer activity, manage opportunities, and forecast sales work
  • Deliver specification assistance and related services to architectural firms
  • Act as the primary contact for architect education, specifications, customer satisfaction, and technical support
  • Oversee architectural development and project tracking for Division 08 specifications
  • Encourage use of the Openings Studio BIM platform and present professional-services proposals

Requirements

  • A college or university degree is preferred in architecture, design, engineering, drafting, construction science or management, business, or a related field; a high school diploma or GED with comparable experience is also acceptable
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management may substitute for a degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using and maintaining CRM systems for sales and activity reporting
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software is advantageous
  • Ability to interpret specifications and facility standards
  • Technical and sales aptitude relevant to the industry
  • Willingness to travel throughout an assigned territory and meet customer needs
  • Ability to work from a home office or while traveling
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of sample and display materials
  • Strong communication, active listening, and negotiation abilities
  • Capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
